So… what the hell is a Passioneer?

Think polymath. Scanner. Renaissance Soul. Multipotentialite. Multipassionate.

There are ten thousand words for what we are. And I’m just honest enough that I’m not comfortable using someone else’s.

(Besides, I like imagining myself in a captain’s hat on the high seas.)

If you have two passions that seem to conflict – say, aerospace engineering and working with big cats – then you’re a Passioneer.

If you confound your friends and family by taking your interest to the point of mastery and then moving on to something else, then you’re a Passioneer.

If you thrive on wildly divergent projects running simultaneously, then you’re a Passioneer.

If you live for new experiences and feel no desire to return for a second helping, then you’re a Passioneer.

If you have the experience to contribute to a conversation in almost any topic, or you have the desire to do so, then you’re a Passioneer.

Because you, the Passioneer, are essential to the future. As a society, we’ve specialized ourselves into some incredibly risky waters. Our world is full of multi-faceted problems that can’t be solved by someone who is just a doctor, just a lawyer, just an evolutionary biologist or just a politician. We need people with a broad range of experience in divergent fields who can think critically and create solutions in the overlapping edges between subjects.

We need Passioneers. We need you.
